About Us

Who We Are

We are

a cross-continental tech-driven organisation exclusively dedicated to private-sector drive of affordable housing in Sub-Saharan Africa.

At AACON, we are deploying digital technology with human expertise to put home ownership in the hands of active working Africans through affordable housing.

AACON boldly sets out to create and be the largest, multi-functional platform positioned as the dominant aggregator, largest driver and main go-to hub for all affordable housing issues in Sub-Saharan Africa towards the ultimate goal of attaining predominant home ownership in the sub-continent.

Boundless Prowess For Visible Impact

Affordable Housing is the GIANT SEGMENT of residential real estate and is the only segment that can deliver the GIANT GOAL of predominant home ownership for Sub-Saharan Africa.

Affordable Housing segment will continue to be the largest residential housing segment for the next 5 decades.

Correctly conceptualized and well-driven, Affordable Housing is clearly the fastest and most feasible opportunity for active working Africans to own homes, guaranteeing quality and modernity, and clearing the housing deficit.

Landscape of Impact

The challenge of home ownership holds back more sub-Saharan African economies and the productivity of Africans living there than any other region or people in the world.

Thus, our landscape of impact exclusively covers the 48 countries of sub-Saharan Africa.

This challenge can be overcome in the next few decades and will help propel Africa into the orbit of modern progress with other continents.

Global Vision
A highly-advanced and maximally-productive Sub-Saharan Africa with predominant home ownership as a key driver.

We have a vision of a Sub-Saharan Africa that —

— is not held back by the incapacity of basic home ownership;

— all active, working population own their homes individually or family unit;

— the boost of home ownership capital maximizes individual productivities;

— maximized individual productivities propel the respective economies to thrive.

Our Driving Principles

SEVEN principles that drive our target actions.

| All Working Persons Deserve Self-Owned Homes
Screenshot (233)

We believe that within a reasonably short period of time, EVERY working person DESERVES to have and live in a HOME that is SELF-OWNED, individually or as a family unit.

| Affordable Housing is NOT Social Housing
web64

We believe the low impact of "affordable housing" has largely been due to its false equivalence to social housing. They are not the same. Social Housing is the exclusive responsibility of Government for the indigent and lowest class of society. "Affordable Housing", on the other hand, is for the actively engaged, self-sustaining working population who take responsibility for themselves and can obtain homes by themselves given the right availment

| Giant Segment, Highest Potential.
Picture19

We believe that "affordable housing" is the largest housing segment and has the highest latent potential and widest latitude to accelerate home ownership to solve the vast housing deficit and achieve the goal of transiting housing from predominantly rental to predominantly ownership in SSA countries.

| Commercially Viable on Private-Sector Basis
1_QmOfCSGbmU6Bf4SSVIS_7A

We believe that “affordable housing” can be profitably run on a private-sector, market-driven basis without dependence on Government or compromise of quality.

| Proliferating Supply is Golden
Screenshot (425)

We believe the main instrument of driving affordable housing is an ingenious crack of the problem of supply. Over the years, focus has variously intensified in may other areas like funding, mortgage, income, title, system, foreclosure and so on with the least focus on driving supply intensively. To make affordable housing work and deliver on its potential of predominant home ownership for sub-Saharan Africa, supply must be abundant.

| Clear Definition, Distinct Isolation, Exclusive Focus
Screenshot (342)

We believe affordable housing needs to be clearly differentiated with its technical meaning and operational definition, and isolated away from the general property for exclusive focus. The general appropriation of "affordable" to all classes of properties is a misnomer. The term "affordable" has been adulterated and reduced to its literal meaning for pure marketing purposes. In housing, "affordable" is essentially a technical term exclusive to "AFFORDABLE HOUSING" only, not a general prefix.

| Tech is the Ultimate Sine Quan Non
VeniceAI_bJmNjBA-removebg-preview

We believe the conclusion of our research that digital technology will be the cornerstone for the  success of achieving the mission of predominant home ownership for Sub-Saharan Africa. Technology will be the firing throttle on which the deployment of the strategies will ride and the intensity, depth and effectiveness of the tech delivery will determine the quality, speed and quantum of achievement of the set goals and the mission in its entirety.

.... driving the mission and getting the job done.
Technical

Affordable Housing is not just another classical segment of real estate. It is a unique set-type and special class of residential real estate. It is about a higher goal of home ownership.

To succeed, Affordable Housing puts the goal of home ownership first, upon and around which the parameters of viability are built and based.

Thus, issues of prerequisite clear and accurate definitions for distinct market differentiation, actual supply gap determination, provisioning strategies, target demographics, availment models and almighty techification of process and operations have all been dealt with and form the package of our technical approach to achieving the AACON’s mission.

Customer - Centric

We are deploying the extraordinary customer-focus at the heart of the operations and success of Amazon in AACON. Affordable Housing not being approached as a classical residential real estate investment, means being customer-centric, means we start with the customer.

Conventionally, classical private sector real estate endeavours, as a prerequisite, finalise investment parameters at usually wide profitability margins and then move to align customer situation and constraints to fit while offering disguised incentives to appear beneficial to them.

In deviation, AACON leads with the customer. We have deduced and ranked the challenges of the target populations and thus begin with availment in planning even though the physical availment is at the end of the process.

Collaborative

Extensive collaborative approach,  ideating with all in an open and and broad spectrum and taking actions with all stakeholders across the sub-continent.

While our flagship partnership is with affordable housing  development companies, the spectrum is long and covers the Federal Government, National MDAs, State Governments, State Agencies, Financial and Other Corporate Institutions, Private Companies, CSOs, NGO and Foundations.
