A Boundless Prowess For Visible Impact

With home ownership at less than 20%, “affordable housing“, if properly conceptualized and driven, provides the fastest and most feasible opportunity for modern, quality home ownership for majority of  working Africans

It is the main solution to the huge housing deficit and will continue to constitute the largest housing segment in Sub-Saharan Africa for the next 40 Years.

OUR COVERAGE

Our Landscape of Impact

The challenge of home ownership holds back more sub-Saharan African economies and the productivity of Africans living there than any other region or people in the world.

Our coverage of activity and landscape of change exclusively covers the 43 countries of sub-Saharan Africa.

This challenge can be overcome in the next few decades and will help propel Africa into the orbit of modern progress with other continents.

OUR MISSION

To  transit housing in Sub-Saharan Africa to “PREDOMINANT HOME OWNERSHIP“. through Affordable Housing.

our vision

A Sub-Saharan Africa with predominant home ownership where, through Affordable Housing, majority of active working Africans and their happy families own their homes.

We have a vision of a Sub-Saharan Africa not held back by the incapacity of basic home ownership –

where all active, working population own their homes individually or as a family unit;

where the boost of home ownership capital maximizes the productivity of each African;

and, propels their respective economies to thrive.

With AACON as the foremost driver, we believe this is possible within the next couple of decades.

Our Channels of Engagement

Driving Principles

:

SIX principles that form the creative foundry of our ingenious solutions and drive the core of our target actions.

1.

ALL WORKING PERSONS DESERVE SELF-OWNED HOMES

2.

PRIVATE-SECTOR COMMERCIAL VIABILITY – YES.

3.

HIGHEST POTENTIAL FOR HOME OWNERSHIP

4.

THE GOLD ACTION – PROLIFERATING SUPPLY.

5.

CLEAR DEFINITION AND EXCLUSIVE FOCUS

6.

AFFORDABLE HOUSING IS NOT SOCIAL HOUSING

1.

ALL WORKING PERSONS DESERVE SELF-OWNED HOMES

We believe every working person DESERVES to live (alone or with family) in a HOME that is SELF-OWNED.

2.

AFFORDABLE HOUSING IS COMMERCIALLY VIABLE ON PRIVATE-SECTOR BASIS

We believe that “affordable housing” can be profitably run on a private-sector, market-driven basis without dependence on Government or compromise of quality.

3.

AFFORDABLE HOUSING IS THE LARGEST HOUSING SEGMENT WITH THE HIGHEST POTENTIAL TO DRIVE HOME OWNERSHIP

We believe that “affordable housing” is the largest housing segment and has the highest latent potential and widest latitude to accelerate home ownership to solve the vast housing deficit and achieve the goal of transiting housing from predominantly rental to predominantly ownership in SSA countries.

4.

PROLIFERATING SUPPLY IS THE GOLDEN RULE

We believe cracking ingeniously the problem of supply of affordable housing is the key to rapidly achieve predominant home ownership. Focus has been dissipated over the years on adjunct areas like funding, mortgage, income, title, system, foreclosure and so on with a near-zero neglect of the main factor of supply.

5.

AFFORDABLE HOUSING REQUIRES CLEAR DEFINITION AND ISOLATION FOR EXCLUSIVE FOCUS

We believe affordable housing needs to be isolated away from the general property for exclusive focus. It also requires to be clearly differentiated with its technical meaning and operational definition. The general appropriation of “affordable” to all classes of properties is a misnomer. The term “affordable” has been adulterated and reduced to its literal meaning for pure marketing purposes. In housing, “affordable” is essentially a technical term exclusive to the segment of “AFFORDABLE HOUSING” only, not a general prefix.

6.

6. "AFFORDABLE HOUSING" IS NOT SOCIAL HOUSING

Social Housing is the exclusive responsibility of Government for the indigent and lowest class of society. “Affordable Housing”, on the other hand, is for the actively engaged, self-sustaining working population who take responsibility for themselves and can obtain homes by themselves given the right enablement. Both are not the same. We believe the low impact of “affordable housing” has largely been due to its false equivalence to “social housing”. This has made practitioners and developers resign to the benevolence of Government and State Authorities.
